  • Jeff DeVine
    President and Chief Executive Officer

    Mr. DeVine has over 20 years experience in banking with the last 17 years spent here in Santa Barbara. Over his career, he has held positions in commercial, retail, private and investment banking. Prior to joining American Riviera Bank in 2008, Mr. DeVine led the Commercial Real Estate Division for Rabobank, N.A. in California. Prior to that, he was the Regional President for the Greater Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez Valley Region of Mid-State Bank & Trust.

    Mr. DeVine graduated from the University of California San Diego with a BS in Quantitative Economics. He later attended Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington where he graduated with honors. Mr. DeVine has held various Board positions with local non-profits including Treasurer of the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Santa Barbara County and Treasurer of the Los Padres Council of Boy Scouts of America. He is currently the Secretary of the Lobero Theatre Foundation, and a member of the steering committee for the South Coast Business and Technology Awards Dinner and Premier Professionals of Santa Barbara.

    Mr. Jacobsen has been serving the Santa Barbara & Ventura County markets for the past 13 years as a community banker. Prior to joining American Riviera Bank in 2009, Mr. Jacobsen was the South Central Coast Commercial Real Estate Market Manager for Rabobank, N.A. Prior to that, he had been a senior commercial banking officer for Mid-State Bank & Trust and Santa Barbara Bank & Trust.

    Mr. Jacobsen graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Economics and Business from Westmont College. He is an active community volunteer, currently serving as Vice President of Development for the Elings Park Foundation and as President of the Santa Barbara Rugby Association.

  • Michelle Martinich
    Senior Vice President
    Chief Financial Officer

    In her 15-year career, Mrs. Martinich has gained extensive knowledge and experience in performing complex financial modeling such as asset liability management, funds transfer pricing, and profitability and risk management. Mrs. Martinich was a member of the organizing management team for American Riviera Bank and has served as the CFO since the Bank’s inception in 2006.

    As Vice President, Planning & Analysis with Pacific Capital Bancorp (Santa Barbara Bank & Trust), Mrs. Martinich had full responsibility for corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis, including consideration of merger and acquisition activity, as well as complex modeling, such as profitability, funds transfer price and asset liability model preparation.

    She also held the position of Experienced Audit Senior for Arthur Andersen, where she worked primarily in the financial services industry. Her clients included Pacific Capital Bancorp (Santa Barbara Bank & Trust) and Sanwa Bank of California.

    Ms. Martinich is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated with honors from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Business Economics. Mrs. Martinich is also active in the community and serves as the current Board Chair of Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara.

  • Laurie Leighty
    SVP, Operations and Human Resources

    Mrs. Leighty's career in the Santa Barbara banking industry spans 31 years with management experience in numerous banking and branch specific operations. Her banking career began in 1980 at Montecito Bank and Trust when it was only $40 million in assets with 40 employees. She was Senior Vice President/HR Director there for over 14 years before being promoted to Branch Administrator where she managed the bank’s five south coast branches. After leaving Montecito Bank, Laurie was an organizational management consultant in Santa Barbara. She was recruited by the American Riviera Bank’s founders in May of 2005 to help open a new community bank in Santa Barbara.

    Mrs. Leighty is involved in numerous non-profits in Santa Barbara, including the Santa Barbara Athletic Roundtable, The Center for Successful Aging, The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County, and Women’s Executive Network. She is a graduate of UCSB and lives in Santa Barbara with her husband and 3 nearly grown up children.
